What is the VPK program?

The Voluntary Pre-kindergarten program is designed to prepare children for kindergarten and develop the skills they need to become good readers and successful students. Our Savior Lutheran School strives to ensure a high standard in literacy skills, strict accountability, appropriate curricula, substantial instruction periods, manageable class sizes and qualified instructors. Parents have the option of enrolling children in a school-year program consisting of 540 instructional hours. Family Central is administering the Voluntary Pre-kindergarten program and will be providing applications and information to parents.

What are steps to receive services?

When you complete the application process, you will receive a Certificate of Eligibility and a list Broward County VPK Providers. You will need to submit the Certificate of Eligibility to Our Savior Lutheran School, prior to your child attending the program. We encourage parents to be informed consumers of VPK, and to fell confident knowing that Our Savior is a program that will meet your child’s learning needs.

VPK is a program for preschool children who will turn 4-years-old by September 1st. VPK is a free preschool program that is open to all children who live in the state of Florida. VPK is a 3-hour instructional day program that focuses on early literacy, language and math skills. VPK children receive 3-hours during the regular school year. To qualify for the VPK program, parents must submit an application at the Family Central Inc. office.
