Our Savior started our athletics program back in 2009. Since then, our program has grown at a tremendous pace each and every year. Where we started out with two teams, we now have sixteen organized competitive teams at Our Savior, ranging from 1st grade hockey to 8th grade golf. We are continuing to add to our program each and every year maintaining our number one goal, to offer all of our students the opportunity to play competitive sports, regardless of individual ability or background . GO SAINTS!!!

Our Mission
The Saints Athletic Program aims to provide a variety of experiences to assist in developing favorable habits and attitudes in students, which will better prepare them for adult life in society.
The interscholastic athletic program shall be conducted in accordance with existing school policies, rules, and regulations. At no time should the program place the total educational curriculum secondary in emphasis, as the program should constantly strive for the development of well-rounded individuals.
Students will learn the values of teamwork, discipline, and hard work while instilling life long skills that will allow them to be productive world citizens.
Specific Objectives The student-athlete shall learn:
To work with others - The team and its objectives must be placed higher than personal desires.
To be successful - We do not always win, but we succeed when we continually strive to do so. You can learn to accept defeat only by striving to win with earnest dedication.
To develop sportsmanship - To win gracefully, and to accept defeat like a true sportsman/woman, knowing we have done our best; to develop desirable social traits, including emotional control, honesty, discipline, tolerance, cooperation and dependability. Always respect opponents, coaches, and referees-officials.
To improve - Try to better yourself in the skills involved and to obtain those characteristics set forth as being desirable.
To enjoy athletics - It is necessary for student-athletes to enjoy sporting activities, and to acknowledge all of the personal rewards to be derived from participating in a healthy competitive environment.
To develop desirable personal health habits - It is important to obtain a high degree of physical fitness through exercise and good health habits, and to develop the desire to maintain this level of physical fitness after formal competition has been completed. Safety and injury prevention will be emphasized.
Athletic Program Philosophy:
1. No cuts – everyone makes the team providing they adhere to all team rules
2. Very strong emphasis on fundamentals and skills work
3. Moderate emphasis on outcome – very strong emphasis on effort and attitude
4. Very strong emphasis on everyone getting the opportunity to play providing they adhere to all team rules
5. Very strong emphasis on character building and self-esteem. |
